Wow. This is my 100th Blog Entry. When I started this out I kinda doubted myself that I would even remember that I have a blog. It’s been a ton of fun even though one time or another an entry has been misinterpreted. Oh well. What can you do?
This past Sunday Corey and I Skyped for the first time ever with a couple from Wales that we’ve been participating in a ‘Christmas culture exchange’ of sorts. This is our first year exchanging gifts but the first time we’ve seen each other.
It was cool to chat and we opened our presents all together. This year I had fun shopping for Christmas gifts because I didn’t have to deal with the unbearable craziness of December shoppers. I had picked out a bunch of made in Vancouver candies and chocolates as well as a very stereotypical ornament of a hockey playing-chipped tooth- eh sayin’ beaver. It was too cute to pass up. I also included a few sketches, one of them being of Hannah’s little rat! =) I’ve never drawn mice or rats before so it was a fun experience.
We were blown away by Hannah’s wonderful knitting skills when I pulled out some canine themed mittens. With the ridiculously cold weather lately, they have been more than useful and a lot of my clients love them!
Here’s Zoey showing off a Welsh toque Corey received. She got spoilt too with a lovely collar. Corey and I devoured nearly all of the UK goodies we got. Told ya they don’t last long in our house.Nicole and I have been dealing with more than the usual at the daycare this week. With temperatures well below freeing (-6 today!) we’ve had to deal with a home-made ice rink in the back. As one could guess, doggy daycare is more than just playing with pups. You gotta CLEAN the byproduct of cute things. In the other seasons, this chore isn’t much, we hose down the outside area, sanitize spray and carry on our way. In below freezing temperatures it doesn’t go so smoothly. Imagine a frozen hose, frozen water pipes, frozen pee and poop, so water to clean things…..arg the list goes on. To top it all off the privacy tarps we have up ripped off the fence today due to the arctic winds. I guess the zap straps turn very brittle at 6 below and couldn’t handle the strain. They have been put up again with rope this time after a long hassle of trying to get dogs to not stand on the tarps. As of right now I’m boiling water and about to go scrub away the grossness that is outside.
I had bloodwork done yesterday. This time I barely panicked. I was so proud of myself that I went and splurged on a ring that I have been dying to buy. It was pricier than I really wanted but after trying it on every time I popped into the store I needed it. I was rewarding myself right? I love it!
