Monday Morning Madness

This morning I sat down on the couch, wrapped up in my blanket with a cup of tea at my lips as I watched the news, as is part of my morning routine. House fire, traffic, weather. Then a strange piece about what lengths women are going to for the sake of a pretty photo of their wedding rings.
Apparently, plastic surgery and fat injections IN YOUR HANDS is a growing fad so that brides-to-be can show off that ring with perfectly sculpted digits. What the flying fuck?
I’ll be the first to admit that thinking about getting married makes my woman senses get all warm and fuzzy but holy crap, girls out there are getting cosmetic surgery so that the pic they post of their finger in an engagement band looks just right. The doctor in the segment showed where he would make the incision on your wrist and …..pull back all the skin on your hand to make it look tighter and more youthful. BARF! What the hell happened to photoshop if you are that self conscious about your paws? This procedure seems to be done mostly for those selfie pics that show off the ring so girls can go, “Oh my gawd, look at this roooooock!”
Shouldn’t you be more focused on making a huge commitment to the man (Or woman!) you’re preparing to step into the ret of your life with? I think people really have lost the real meaning behind marriage and are focusing too much on the martial aspect of it. Who cares if you got a 26k ring or that your center pieces are encrusted with Swarovski crystals (had to google that). Really people? Stop cutting up/ injecting/whatever else to your body just for the sake of showing off a rock  in the ground. Weddings aren’t a contest for the most beautiful, most expensive, most youthful. Maybe start thinking about what it’s really about.

Ok, strange rant about girls using cosmetic surgery on their hands over. Today is Monday and apart from weird news stories, It’s been a pretty good morning. Tea, snuggles from Corey and a very happy puppy = so nice. It was POURING this morning so Zoey and I bolted to the car. I haven’t seen rain this heavy in a while. We sat in the car together for a minute before I even put the key in the ignition and just listened to the sound. This morning seemed so quiet and I was kinda surprised with the lack of people on the road. So my day ahead is filled with puppies and more painting. Oh, did I mention painting took up most of my weekend? All day Saturday my mom, dad and my landlord Erin painted our new suit. Oooh boy! It’s looking stunning and I can’t wait to move in. Our new landlord (Erin’s parents) came down and looked at the colors I picked for our feature walls and laughed. He doesn’t mind us painting crazy colors so long as we paint over them when we leave. Wait till he sees the lime green slated for our spare room!

Sunday Nicole and I had our last session with our awkward dog training client. We decided to meet up early, grab our homework sheets and have breakfast while we discussed our plan of attack. We ended up heading to Rickies and guess who we were seated beside? Our clients! How damn awkward. Haha Poor Nicole was facing them so the two of us pretended to be in deep conversation after the initial “Hello, funny seeing you here!” so that it looked like we weren’t chatting about them (as we had planned) haha. Training commenced at one and once again it was terrible. The mom admitted that they hadn’t practiced at all. What the hell?! How do you except to get anywhere with your dog if you don’t actually practice with him. We concluding our training session with ‘come when called’ but that command is terribly hard to teach if you haven’t invested any time into getting your dog to learn the first two steps. It went well enough but the woman still wasn’t very receptive. Oh well, you win some you lose some.

Thursday Thoughts

Hello Blog

Today is the day! Today I start a hectic 8 days straight of dog sitting. 5 dogs including my own. Geeze! This upcoming weekend is a long weekend but I feel like I'm going to be on my feet the whole time. I finally got the suite primed and ready for paint so we will be throwing on the colors this weekend. I still also need to finish prepping and paint all the moldings and trim too which I know will take ages.
On top of that is taking care of all these pups =) I plan on getting outdoors and going on trips to tynehead, the dog beach and maybe some other fun places. I just hope that my allergies try not to kill me.
Packing to move finally started. Holy crap the day is coming fast. 16 days until we hope to be all moved in.

Zombie Girl

You know that you have had a stressful week when you finally reach Friday and all you want to do it drop dead and sleep for the rest of the month? Sleep has been put on the back burner and I just giggle to myself like a psycho when I think about having to do any chores at home. SO much to do in such a short amount of time. Can it just be June 1st please?

One Year Of Blogs

Well, Hello blog.

I haven’t really gotten a chance to write here for a while.  It’s been almost a month since I had an actually blog post that wasn’t me having temporary memory loss. I also passed my one year anniversary of blog writing on May 2nd. Yay, go me. I failed to follow through with a number of projects on here but they were tons of fun while I kept at it.
Sooo….what’s new? Corey finally had his knee surgery! He’s back home and resting till at least the weekend. He goes back to the doctors next week for a follow up. ‘m super stoked that he finally got his knee fixed because it had been killing him for ages.
May is a crazy month for not only me but everyone else it seems. I will be dog sitting from Friday till the end of the month. Corey and I need to pack all our shit and be moved into our new suite by June 1. Our new suite still needs the drywall, priming and painting finished before the moving happens. Nicole’s b-day is going to rock down the buildings in Langley on Saturday and on Sunday is a non-stop mothers day event. The daycare had reached capacity almost every single day since …..February? It’s been crazy. Throw a smattering of weekly dog walking, dog training, and the million things one already needs to do around the house, and you have one full, crazy month!
Did I mention Nicole and I are doing hot yoga at a place just around the corner from our work? Holy smokes is it fun!
I ended up going to the first class by myself because I am a dork. I wore capris and runners. Big mistake! In hot yoga, you are placed in a hoooot room and sweat like you’re a fat man in a parka on the beach. Apart from arriving late, and having to run out into the parking lot barefoot because I forgot my water bottle, it was a really good first session. I think I lost half my body weight in sweat but boy I felt good after.  The last ten minutes of class it spent on you back, just letting yourself relax and meditate. Before everyone packs up we share a motivating little motto of the day. It’s really cool and everyone I’ve spoken to there are really nice. I’m loving it. Nicole and I did a few more classes since then. Freedom & Flow, and a stretch/relaxation session.  Sunday was a different story. We thought we signed up for another freedom and flow class but as we wait for our instructor, the music starts playing and its not the slow, soothing tunes as before. It’s fast and loud. This wasn’t freedom and flow. We accidently signed up for Hot Power Core. This shit was like bootcamp in the desert! I couldn’t keep up and had to give myself breaks throughout the hour long class. I look over and see the look on Nicole’s face. She went to the Luke Bryan concert the night before and this was definitely not the class for hangovers. Haha! After we worked our ass off we had to rush home and get cleaned up before our 11am appointment with our dog training client.
What a week!
Speaking of that dog training client, boy she’s so different compared to our first client, Buddy.
She never seems ready or focused. It’s like she just drops everything when we arrive but the phone rings, and she answers the door or fiddles with shit as we are trying to go through the lesson. She also never asks questions. It makes the session a little awkward and Nicole and I are grasping for things to say or show her to fill in the hour slot she’s reserved.
“So, do you have any questions?”
“Nope.”
“Where else have you tried this method?”
“Just here.”
“Did you have any concerns about this behavior?”
“No.”
“Was there anything that you wanted to know about _____?”
“Nah.”
Wtf. Oh well. Every client can’t be perfect but holy moly.

Anyway, I’m gonna go play some ball with all the pups I have coming in. See ya!
