All The Good Things

Good morning, Tuesday.

I woke up on time today. My first of three alarms started blaring at 5:32. I never set my alarms to round number. Never 5:00 never 8:30. I always try to squeeze in an extra minute or two. It’s like treating myself to a few more moments of ‘sleeping in’.

I feel like I’ve fallen under a negativity spell the past little while. People around me have been so negative and I just turn into a mirror and seem to reflect it all back. Whine, complain, moan. I don’t want to be like that (Which is hard to accomplish when you’re sick!) so I’m trying to block out everyone’s negativity and take a few moments for myself. I take too much to heart and let other people’s emotions consume me so readily that I sometimes don’t know what I’m unhappy about until I realize that it’s other people’s problems! Breath in. Be happy!

Speaking of happy, my boyfriend has been off work due to an injury. While that itself isn’t a good thing, we have been enjoying time together immensely. During this down time we’ve been working on our website together, learning bits of code and how to use Wordpress. It’s challenging but when we work together everything seems so much easier. Go team!
After I got off work yesterday, the two of us zipped off to Rickies and had a nice little date. The restaurant was pretty dead and we were the only ones in our section. It was fun to whisper back and forth even though no one was around to hear us. We spoke about the first time we exchanged the words ‘I love you.’ And reminisced our experiences at Grad and laughed at all the little things we used to do early on in our relationship. I love reliving those memories. They bring such a smile to not only my face but his. Our conversation swung to the future and we excitedly spoke about our website and what else we would do to make our goals even closer. I love how excited he gets. His enthusiasm really gets me motivated.
Our Rickies date turned into a dollarstore shop followed by a trip out to the whiterock Walmart. Why oh why did I drive to THAT Walmart? The fields and scenery where beautiful out that way but good god, people see snow on the roads and throw their car into a crawl. Having people slow to almost a stop in front of you when you’re on a super steep, icy hill isn’t the best scenario but we eventually made it and got Corey his kneebrace. Poor guy.
On our way home we stopped at my parents house and talked about Mexico. Did I mention we’re going? Hell yeah! We’re so stoked it’s mind blowing. Pender in July, Mexico in December. It’s going to be a great year. I can’t wait.

Hello Monday

Hey I haven’t really posted here since January. I be honest, some days I have so much to day but really don’t feel like writing it down. Sometimes people unintentionally drag you through the dirt and once you get up and dust yourself off, you don’t really feel like sharing. Anyway, today I wanted to play a little catch up.

Valentine's day was wonderful. I spent a few days prior making half a billion iced sugar cookies. I put them all in little heart print bags and at 6 in the morning I visited some friends houses and put them on their door. Bam Love fairy is in town! I love making stuff for other people and the cookies seemed to be a tasty success. Later that evening, Corey and I scrubbed up and put on some fancy duds and took ourselves to the Washington Avenue Grill. Normally we don't partake in the whole omg-its-valentines-day-take-me-out-and-spend-all-our-money that a lot of people do. I got gift cards to this place that paid for our whole, very delicious meal. The service was amazing too! Normally this place is bumping on a normal weekend, Friday it was packed to the bring with couples. Despite that, we arrived a 7, ate our appies, our meal paid and left all before 8! It was an amazing night with my amazing guy so I couldn't ask for anything more.
So,  I’m 24 now. Old. I got to play paintball with the boys in the morning which was a ton of fun. I wasn't as into the game as I had been before but I eventually got a few of the boys out. Then my friends and I had a pretty damn fun time at the local pub/dance place. I was even spoiled with an amazing Tardis cake that my best friend had made for me! Stellar! We danced the night away and apart from some super duper inappropriate behavior towards the ladies in our group from one creeper, it was a blast. Corey and I ended up taking a cab home, where the next day I remember that I left alllllll my car keys in the truck of his car, which was still parked by the pub. Damnit!
We eventually got the cars all in order and celebrated the rest of the weekend with family. A day later I proceeded to catch the plague. Runny nose, major fatigue, dry persistent cough, headaches. Ugh it was terrible. I Never had a cold/flu take so much out of me. Nicole had it worse, as she got the stomach bug but both of us were is pretty bad condition. We had to close work on Wednesday because we were both in such terrible shape that work really wasn’t possible. Thank god. Our clients were pretty understanding too which was nice. So this morning I started off the day on the wrong foot and ended up flying out of bed at 6:22am. That is a whole hour past my three, THREE alarms that I had set. Why did my phone and my clock alarm fail to go off? No flipping clue. I threw on clothes grabbed my mascara and some orange juice and flew out to the door only to find that my car was coated in a fresh dumping of snow and ice. Cue made scraping and then driving down to work when my driverside windshield wiper suddenly decided not to work. Normally on Mondays, people start showing up about quarter to 7 so I thought I was safe. Nope. As I drive past, there are two people already waiting outside. Fuck. Ugh! So Now that I’ve been here for an hour, I only have 4 dogs, I’m wearing gross clothes that should have been washed and I’m seriously lacking breakfast . Hello Monday
