Go-go-go

Holy Moly this weekend was a busy one!
Both Thursday and Friday we got to witness more amazing sunrises. It was stunning.  The girls and I exchanged pictures as the colors grew across the sky. I even won something at Timmies after about what...17 losing cups? yay! After work a few of us waiting at Whitespot forever before finally getting a table to eat. Afterward the boys seemed to have a plan and we ended up at a gocart place in Langley. I didn't know we had gocarts here! We left laughing and smelling like gas but it was fun.
For being February, it was gloriously warm and sunny the last two days. Saturday I wore capris and a t-shirt most of the day. It was amazing. I took Zoey out for a long walk around the neighbourhood and checked out all the little parks before heading to the dog park where she failed to remember that she is, in fact, a dog. She turns into a sniffing machine there and doesn't bother with playing at all.
I spent the rest of the day alternating between working on art and reading outside in the sunshine while Zozo kept me company. Later in the evening Zoey got another walk with Kat and I before we had dinner at together at her house with the guys.

Sunday morning Corey and I got up early and made banana waffles together and hung out with Zozo as the sun filtered through the blinds. It was gearing up to be another beautiful day. We piled in my car and went off to maple ridge to go test drive a jeep we had already checked out. We settled on it and will be picking it up tonight. Excited =)
We made it back home by noon and then headed out to Buntzen lake with Kat and Mike. We met up with Den and Spencer and they hiked for us for a few minutes before we carried on further up the trail. It was awesome. Beautiful but busy there. Zoey had a blast and we threw balls for her into the lake to swim for them and she made friends with another black lab. A very busy, but very lovely weekend!

Friday Catch Up

It's been a busy week!

I turned 25 on Sunday. It was a bittersweet birthday as Corey and I sold the Challenger. I never knew I could get so emotionally attached to a vehicle. I should have guessed though as I was pretty sad seeing my old Celica's fade into the distance when I bought 'new' cars. The Challenger may not be the fanciest car in the world but man it made me feel badass. We had wonderful memories made with that car. My first time to Alberta, learning to do donuts, taking it camping and getting some seriously weirdo stares, midnight trips to go get ice cream, road trips to Seattle. The list is nearly endless. When I worked in Delta, Corey and I would often take the same highway home and it made me smile spotting it in traffic. I rocked out in that car. Hell, I miss it a ton. But on to bigger and better things. We have our eyes peeled for a Jeep, something we can transport all our camping gear in, dogs and Corey's ever growing collection of fishing crap. While the Challenger was badass, it wasn't very practical. With us doing more outdoor adventures and the need of a bigger vehicle for Corey's line of work, a Jeep will probably be our best option.
To be honest, I teared up as we drove away with Blue sitting in the London Drugs parking lot with his new owner. The kid who bought it doesn't seem the brightest and I hope to the stars that he doesn't total it within a matter of days.

The rest of my birthday was good, however. I had breakfast with my family and aunt, spent time test driving a few vehicles and then I went to dinner with a bunch of friends.
Holy crap that was fun. I think 9 of us went in total and between two shots and two drinks, I admittedly got a bit giggly. It was great having a bunch of good friends over good food. Even Steve, who lives in Grand Prairie came right to the restaurant after a 13 hour drive to see his family.
Monday the girls took me to go see 50 Shades of Grey. We took silly pictures beforehand and then settled down at the edges of our seats loaded with popcorn and pop.
Laughing at each other had my face aching from giggling like idiots.

This week has been a little crazy work wise. It hasn't always been full to the brim with dogs but the ones that have been in have been fifty kinds of crazy. At least it's Friday now! I'm excited for this weekend. It's supposed to be beautiful.

Here's to adventure and rejuvenation!

Wonderous Weekend

Apparently I pressed save and not publish yesterday (Monday)

It's Monday.

But that's ok. Getting out of bet this morning was a challenge. Corey and I alternated pressing snooze on our alarms for an hour before rolling out of bed. But, in all honesty, I'm excited for this week.

Friday I worked late and then had Nicole over for laundry, popcorn and a quick zip up to the mall.
Saturday I saw the boys off to fishing in the morning and spent much of it cleaning and finishing a few pages of the sci-fi comic I've been coloring. I busted my ass at my fitness class and went out to grab yet more cookie cutters from a cake place I enjoy shopping at (Don't tell Corey).
By noon I was at my parents, visiting the fam and playing with Zoey and Shyloh. Oh, did I forget to mention her? I think she'll have a blog post just for her sometime this week so I'll get on that.
Later Nicole picked me up and we had an adventerous Saturday. We walked along a lovely train in Glen Valley and discussed our zombie survival options. She showed me Chad Kroegers house. Wtf I had no idea. Who needs a house that big!?
We went back to her place and baked fish cookies for her bf before heading out to Beatniks. I think we were both having trouble deciding what to eat. That place is filled to the ceiling with amazing food. I love it! While we waited, we people watched and I think laughed too much for our own good.
At the end of the meal our waitress came up and told us that the bartender thought I was cute. BAHAH
That never happens. I left with a stupid smile on my face. Nicole and i made icing and set up our epic decorating station in front of the TV where we watched a movie she had been raving about. I had to stop icing because there was just so much to take in. The movie is called 'The Wild" and it covers the life of a young man who pretty much says fuck it and lives in the alaskan wilderness for 100 days. I don't think I've felt such conflicted feelings for a movie like that before. At the end I can pretty much say I was devastated. I expected some sad but not that horrific. The next morning I woke up thinking about it. What a horrible, lonely way to die. Nicole lent me the tag along book by the boy's sister so I'll be digging into that (Shortly after I finish my indulgence of 50 Shades)
Sunday I spent most of the day at my Grandma's acting as a care aid seeing as she was one short due to unfortunate family circumstances.
I made apple cinnamon crepes for breakfast and soup with honey butter cornbread for lunch and a wackload of cookies for my brother as when I got back home we ate dinner together and celebrated his birthday. I can't believe he's 22. Good lord, im a quarter century in a few weeks. =(
