This past long weekend was crazy. I got to play a part in a
friend’s wedding for the first time ever! I was asked to be a bridesmaid and
help my friend in preparation of her wedding. I have been in a bridal party
before but that was for family and I couldn’t have been any older than 10 at
the time. This time around it was fun but a wee bit stressful now that I got to
participate and help out rather than just stand there with some flowers.
The wedding was a huge success. The venue was beautiful and
the weather was nothing short of stunning. It was warm and sunny all day and at
night we had a little lightning show off on the horizon. I danced until my feet
couldn’t handle my high heels, tossed those and danced some more. This blog will lack nice wedding photos because they haven't been shared quite yet.
I guess I can cross two things off my experience challenge.
I participated (Unwillingly) in a drinking game. All the bridal party was lined
up beside the groomsmen and we all had to chug back a glass of beer. As soon as
I was dragged to the stag I could feel my stomach turn. I hate the smell of
beer let alone the taste of it. I don’t drink often so this was going to be a
mess. We played drunken waterfall with the team who loses the bride or groom
had to ‘drink the boot’.
"Ah fuck"
I tried my best but I was up against Englishmen so all in
all it wasn’t all too fair but our lovely MC called it a tie despite the
bridesmaids struggle. Both the bride and groom drank from a shoe afterward to
celebrate the tie. WTF rugby traditions. I didn’t feel all too good after but
the feeling soon passed and it was back to dancing until midnight.
