Harbor's Gentle Rain

Do you have any brie? Cause I am going to need some cheese with all this whine.

I hate how stressful things seem to pile up all at once. It’s never just ONE thing that goes wrong. It seems to come in groups. Then it piles up and gets turned from a little bump in the road into a mountain. I don’t manage my own stress very well but I like to think that I can deal with other people’s problems with a calm and patient air (most of the time).
Today seems to start off great. I woke up really early and went for a walk around the dyke at 6:30 this morning. It was beautiful, crisp and the birds were out singing their morning chorus.
Earlier this week Corey and I went to go get paint for our bedroom after our landlords said it was more than ok to paint our suit. It was perhaps the fastest and easiest color picking of all time. I grew up with various shades of bright blue in my room. Its calming and sparks my imagination. We, at first, considered a bold red but when we stood in front of the walls of color cards, Corey immediately spotted a deep teal blue. Done! I seek out a lighter color to compliment the rest of the walls and we pick a very light silver. Harbor and Gentle rain. Sounds like a haven right? I quite liked the names of our chosen colors so that helped seal the deal.
I painted all the silver color last night and when I arrived at home this morning I continued with the Harbor color on our feature wall. I love painting and enjoyed seeing my work progress but I felt a little bummed out because I had imagined Corey and I painting together but that would have taken weeks to pan out.
Anyway I got it done with little mess or fuss and managed to get the house clean before I had to get ready for work. It wasn’t until something at work came up, even before I got there, that all my stress fell into place. A well oiled routine had been made between one of my co-workers and myself. We work as a great team and always seem to get our shit sorted out no problem. We hired an additional member to help with how busy we have been. It started out great but it’s crumbled into a frustrating mess. We got new phones too that I spent an hour or two trying to hook up because two of the three phone jacks in this place are poorly wired and have no close plugs to hook the phone up to close by. That and Corey’s work had been yanking him around unfairly so his stress becomes mine.
So all in all I’ve been at work for two hours and I’m already wishing for Friday. It can’t come soon enough!
