This morning I sat down on the couch, wrapped up in my
blanket with a cup of tea at my lips as I watched the news, as is part of my
morning routine. House fire, traffic, weather. Then a strange piece about what
lengths women are going to for the sake of a pretty photo of their wedding
rings.
Apparently, plastic surgery and fat injections IN YOUR HANDS
is a growing fad so that brides-to-be can show off that ring with perfectly
sculpted digits. What the flying fuck?
I’ll be the first to admit that thinking about getting
married makes my woman senses get all warm and fuzzy but holy crap, girls out
there are getting cosmetic surgery so that the pic they post of their finger in
an engagement band looks just right. The doctor in the segment showed where he
would make the incision on your wrist and …..pull back all the skin on your
hand to make it look tighter and more youthful. BARF! What the hell happened to
photoshop if you are that self conscious about your paws? This procedure seems
to be done mostly for those selfie pics that show off the ring so girls can go,
“Oh my gawd, look at this roooooock!”
Shouldn’t you be more focused on making a huge commitment to
the man (Or woman!) you’re preparing to step into the ret of your life with? I
think people really have lost the real meaning behind marriage and are focusing
too much on the martial aspect of it. Who cares if you got a 26k ring or that
your center pieces are encrusted with Swarovski crystals (had to google that).
Really people? Stop cutting up/ injecting/whatever else to your body just for
the sake of showing off a rock in the
ground. Weddings aren’t a contest for the most beautiful, most expensive, most
youthful. Maybe start thinking about what it’s really about.
Ok, strange rant about girls using cosmetic surgery on their
hands over. Today is Monday and apart from weird news stories, It’s been a
pretty good morning. Tea, snuggles from Corey and a very happy puppy = so nice.
It was POURING this morning so Zoey and I bolted to the car. I haven’t seen rain
this heavy in a while. We sat in the car together for a minute before I even
put the key in the ignition and just listened to the sound. This morning seemed
so quiet and I was kinda surprised with the lack of people on the road. So my
day ahead is filled with puppies and more painting. Oh, did I mention painting
took up most of my weekend? All day Saturday my mom, dad and my landlord Erin
painted our new suit. Oooh boy! It’s looking stunning and I can’t wait to move
in. Our new landlord (Erin’s parents) came down and looked at the colors I
picked for our feature walls and laughed. He doesn’t mind us painting crazy
colors so long as we paint over them when we leave. Wait till he sees the lime
green slated for our spare room!
Sunday Nicole and I had our last session with our awkward
dog training client. We decided to meet up early, grab our homework sheets and
have breakfast while we discussed our plan of attack. We ended up heading to
Rickies and guess who we were seated beside? Our clients! How damn awkward.
Haha Poor Nicole was facing them so the two of us pretended to be in deep
conversation after the initial “Hello, funny seeing you here!” so that it
looked like we weren’t chatting about them (as we had planned) haha. Training
commenced at one and once again it was terrible. The mom admitted that they
hadn’t practiced at all. What the hell?! How do you except to get anywhere with
your dog if you don’t actually practice with him. We concluding our training
session with ‘come when called’ but that command is terribly hard to teach if
you haven’t invested any time into getting your dog to learn the first two
steps. It went well enough but the woman still wasn’t very receptive. Oh well,
you win some you lose some.
