Thursday

Your dog bites
Your silence is his encouragement
Your laughter his praise
Your dog bites
And you stand idle

Your dog bites
His teeth are often hidden
In snide remarks
But they cut

Your dog bites
I think sometimes you bite too
Maybe when no one’s watching
You bite together

Your dog bites
Tiny wounds seep
But you do not see
Your dog bites

And it’s hurting more than me
