Exam Slam!

I did it! I passed my first exam at the dog trainer’s academy! I was super nervous for it but once I got down to answering questions, it really wasn’t that hard. I scored 98% and my jaw dropped when I saw that mark. Yay! I really think all the experience of working in the daycare really helps. I see dogs on a daily basis and really have first-hand experience in behaviors and the like. One question that stumped me was part of the scientific learning theory. All those terms associated with that part of the module are just all so wordy that my brain turns to mush. Despite this module being over I still want to study those terms and really get it down so I can be confident with what I have been taught.
In other exciting accomplishments, today I left Zoey at home while I picked up and dropped off another dog at the daycare. I was gone for just over an hour and when I came back and opened the door, there was no black fuzzy bum waiting desperately at the door. At first I was concerned because normally she waits by the door for us to come back. Not this time! I called her and she came loping out of our bedroom and gave a big stretch and a yawn. Little lady was sleeping! Once she realized I was back I got a very excited wiggle but it was so nice to see her comfortable enough to snooze in another room while we were away. Go Zoey!
Since we taught Zo to press buttons from rewards, I’ve found that I can’t leave the button on the ground anymore. I gave her a treat to chew before bed and Corey and I got all snuggled down with the lights off when I hear the button go off four times.
“Zo?”
“UH-UH!”
I get out of bed and turn on the light in the living room. She looks at me with an excited expression and pounces on the button before turning to me expectantly. Lol you little stinker.
