Germy Girl & Experience Challenge # 11 Canter to the Spa

The past week has been super busy for me. I completed a number of challenges all in one week so I kinda feel stocked up in case I am ever lazy and don’t get out there to do a weekly challenge. Screw that though, I feel so great, getting these experiences under my belt. I really wish I had started earlier. It’s so much fun

On Saturday I went for my first professional massage with a friend of mine. I felt like royalty and left all my baggage at the door as we were lead back into the dimly lit castle looking lounge. We sipped lemon teas and nibbled on dried mango and nuts while we waited for our turn as we sat in our cozy robes. It looked something out of a romance novel with how many candles littered the place but the ambiance was nice. I felt like bag of (refreshed) jello after our massage and then we got our nails done. Nice. I can’t wait to go again. I still have some funds left on my gift card so Corey and I decided to go together for the next trip. We both have been stressed to the max the last little while so it would be nice to go together and just lounge.
Monday I went for my horseback riding trip. The girls weren’t ready when I got there so we got to chat for half an hour while they brushed the horses out. I rode a beautiful male roan (Redheads for life!) named Quincy. He was a lazy bum for the first half but a lovely horse regardless.
I rode with a girl named Alison and we really hit it off. She was fun and easy to chat with and she let me set off in a long canter a number of times just to get it out of my system. So much fun! They lease horses there for 100 bucks a month. The imaginary billionaire that lives in my brain thinks that would be a super idea because each ride is 40-70 bucks without a lease. Perhaps after I take some lessons I can turn myself into a regular rider. It’s so freeing. I love it. As of right now I still flop around in the saddle like a sack of potatoes but I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it.
I’m currently recovering from a nasty flu that hit me like a ton of bricks yesterday morning. I had gone to the clinic to get my ear checked out first thing in the morning and I found that the longer I waited there the worse I felt. By the time I got home to lay down for a bit before work I was in agony and eventually my body decided that turning itself inside out for the next 7 hours would be a marvelous idea. Today, I’m feeling like I fought a grizzly bear and lost. From my chest down to my lower abdomen feels like it’s bruised and my body thinks I’m crazy if I even think about standing up straight. Bleh. Everyone but my mom so far in my family got hit with the same thing and my dad had to go to the hospital because he was vomited for so long. Terrible.
Corey came home from work today not feeling too hot but I’m hoping he isn’t hit too bad. Being sick is no fun and I wouldn’t wish the flu on anyone.
