Oh Monday, it’s you again. I wrote a draft of this blog
post last night to finish it this morning but it was gone, as well as two other
drafts I had. Where did you put them, blogger? I had to write this all out
again!
Corey has taken to playing a dangerous game. He wakes up
way earlier than I do so he can get ready and drive out to work at obscene
hours of the morning. Normally he kisses me goodbye as he’s about to leave and
I’m still hidden in the covers but lately he’s been snuggling up for a few minutes
before he leaves. Now that’s some willpower I don’t have!
Yesterday was the first day of fall and our lovely little
province seems to be taking it to heart from day one. Yesterday it poured and
it was windy and so gross. That’s BC for you. Somehow the residents of this
province (Myself included) are always surprised at how much it rains here. I
always seem to be caught off guard at how the leaves change so suddenly. I
never seem to notice it when only one or two leaves start to turn. It’s usually
upon a trip to my parents where the streets are lined with gorgeous maples that
BAM all of a sudden half the street is brilliant red. This year was a little
different. I caught a few trees in the act. Here it comes. I can’t wait for it
to look so pretty.
Keeping on the brighter side of the cooler months, with
fall comes some of my favorite foods. I celebrated the start of the season with
a Starbucks date with a friend of mine who I haven’t seen in over a month. The café
was jam packed so we had to sit outside. Despite the cold, it was nice.
I also ordered my costume for Halloween. I’m super
excited. All I need now is someone to host a damn party!
Corey and I finally got caught up on Breaking Bad yesterday
and watched episodes 13 and 14 before dinner and were blown away! I don’t think
I’ve ever been so anxious or nervous for a TV series before. My anxiety
actually gets so ramped up during some of the scenes that it feels like I’m the
one about to be shot or caught. It’s just that intense. I love it.
I made us a very fall dinner before we settled down to
watch the newest episode. Roasted candied yams and spaghetti squash with homemade
pork dumplings and sea salt peas with Roast peaches and ice cream for dessert.
Omg so good.
We hunkered down for the newest intense episode and now
we are so antsy for next Sunday to come. In the same hand we almost don’t want
it to. It’s like finishing a series of really good books. They have taken you
to another world for such an intense journey that once you read that last page,
it’ over. Nothing new will happen. It always makes me sad when I finish a good
book. Finishing the Harry Potter series was next to devastating as I grew up on
that stuff.
That said, finishing a series is also kind of like
closure as long as no aggravating open ends are left unanswered.
