I had a few attempts to write this blog during the past
three days but I just couldn’t find enough time to sit down and actually get it
done. I somehow got to work 20 minutes early so I don’t think there’s any
better time than now.
It was one of those weekends that end way too quickly but
are jam packed. Friday I worked late and then had to skip back over to our
local movie theater and met up with some friends for a double feature. Strangely
enough the theater was empty for a Friday. We got awesome seats in the middle
but soon enough these three huge, nerdy guys come and sit right in front of us.
At first my group and I exchanged some “oh boy, this is going to suck” glances
but it turns out that we laughed at the commentary from these guys more than we
enjoyed the movie. We watched City of Bones and boy it was filled with bad
acting and horrible lines. While that was enough to get the four of us
giggling, the comments from the peanut gallery in front of us made us lose it.
Saturday Corey and I got up early and picked up Nicole
for some breakfast before us ladies headed down to the states for some cross
border shopping. Now in this massive line up there were firefighters holding
boots out for change to support the Burn Fund. Luck was on my side and I had a
super cute fire fighter on the driver’s side. We scraped together all the dog
hairy change from my center console and each handed it to the firefighters on
either side in exchange for giant stickers and tattoos.
Nicole’s creep firefighter didn’t want to take his eyes
off her as we slowly crawled ahead in the lineup. We were joking around and I stuck
the sticker on her leg and she made a big ordeal of taking it off and putting
it back on straight while the creepy guy stared at her intensely. Weeeiiiird!
We finally made it through and took the I-5 down to
Bellis Fair mall and then continued to purchase waaaay too many boots and
witnessed some strange guy in a trench coat make crazy keyboard space sounds
with his mouth to a very confused sales rep in a store we were in.
We then had to rush back to the motherland so I could
head out to class. Holy torrential rain batman! Even with my windshield wipers
on full blast I struggled to see the highway.
After class I went to pick up some Vietnamese food to
bring to my dad who’s been in the hospital with a ruptured appendix for the
past week. He’s finally been given the go ahead to eat certain foods and he was
desperate for some Pho.
I have never tried Vietnamese food before so I decided
grab some for myself too before I headed up to the hospital. I haven’t seen him
look this excited for food before. After being allowed nothing for two days and
only water and juice for another two, food was a very welcome sight.
I wasn’t sure what the hell I was supposed to do with the
large number of containers we were given at first. The broth was delicious and
we got rare steak sliced paper thin and you put it in the broth to cook with
these long flat noodles and veggies. Yum! We knocked back our dinner and then
brought out these cup of green custard looking stuff my dad had requested from
the Pho place. I love custards and this was no exception. I don’t know what it
was called but it was bright green and tasted like coconut. So good!
So my need food experience has been had and I think I’m going
to try to convince Corey to go get some Pho sometime next week.
Sunday was the day of errand running but luckily we had a
great night with friends who came over for dinner and to watch the show finale
of Breaking Bad. To be honest it wasn’t as on the edge of your seat as some of
the other episodes but it wrapped it up decently. It’s kind of sad that
something we enjoyed so thoroughly is now over.

Haha creepy firemen! and awesome pic of breaking bad! oh i love jessie. bitch.
