Yesterday I supervised a baking session with my fellow
blogger, Den. We’re both Pintrest-ers and often get seduced by the pictures of
baked goods that look oh-so-amazing on that site. I, for one, have failed
miserably a number of times trying to recreate the picture perfect images I see.
More often than not it’s because I was away from the oven to go on reddit or
watch tv and forget about the things that I’m cooking. My fatal flaw.
Anyway the dough didn’t turn out the right consistency
for her right off the bat but we eventually got it right and followed the next
couple steps until we got this result.
Oh, that doesn’t look quite right.
Despite this set back she forged on and the cookies
eventually turned into a great success! We ended up going to a BBQ gathering
and they flew off the table.
At said gathering my not so secret identity was revealed
as the Dog Lady. This handsome beast wouldn’t leave us be (not that I minded, I’m
awful at being a socialite). Despite the lack of a working BBQ for the BBQ
party the night was fun. We saw an eagle fly right the house which was pretty
cool too. (I think I have a problem, I go to a friend’s party and all I talk
about is the wildlife and cookies)
Kiefer!
I’m going to be attempting to make the same cookies as
Den tonight because they were so bloody good it would be a crime not to. Wish
me luck, I’ll try not to burn them all.
